Through partnerships with local businesses and educational organizations, we offer on-site visits and summer internships that allow students to see professionals in action, ask questions, and get a feel for daily operations in sectors like healthcare, technology, manufacturing, construction, and more.

Advanced Manufacturing Day

Industry Exposure Day

Our Chamber, Eden Area ROP and the San Leandro Unified School District partner on this day, exposing students to careers in manufacturing, welding, machinery and technology mechanics, construction and others.  On this day, students tour different businesses in the morning and then head to Chabot College for a tour of the different programs that could lead them to careers in the field of advanced manufacturing.

Summer Internship

Our Chamber and the San Leandro Unified School District join forces to create real work experiences to enhance student professional skills, industry knowledge, and workforce development.  Employers provide a fresh perspective on their business, the opportunity to expand their future workforce, and the ability to contribute to developing local talent.

How to Get Involved

  • Host Industry Tours

  • Q&A Sessions and Panel Discussions

  • Be a Guest Speaker or Mentor 
    Inspire the workforce of tomorrow by offering your time as a guest speaker or mentor. Your experience can provide invaluable guidance, especially to those unsure of their career path or how to break into a specific industry.
  • Host a Summer Intern
    Contribute to developing local talent by offering a summer internship. This program requires a 4 to 6 week commitment, 10-20 hours a week, and professional guidance throughout the internship for the student intern.
